“Abdikam” is a Hindu ritual performed annually to honor deceased ancestors. It involves specific ceremonies and offerings, typically conducted by family members to ensure the well-being of the departed souls

Masikam
Masikam is a Hindu ritual performed monthly during the first year after a person’s death to honor and nourish the departed soul.

Samvathsarikam
In South Indian Hindu Brahmin tradition, the Samvatsarikam is a significant annual ritual performed on the first death anniversary of a departed soul.
Service Includes:
- First Day (Un Abtikam) – “This preliminary ritual is conducted two days before the main ceremony“
- Second Day (Samvatsaravimoka) – “Performed on the day preceding the actual death anniversary, this ritual signifies the liberation of the departed soul” involving Thila Tandula Tarpanam and Dasha Dhana Karyakramam.
- Third Day: Taddinam (Abdikam) – “The main ceremony is held on the death anniversary, involving – Punyahavachanam and Ganapathi Puja
